SNOWMOBILE EXCURSIONS

Day 1: night in Montreal (Saturday night)
Welcome to the Belle province! Upon your arrival, you will be met by a Mekoos representative. He will take you to the Hyatt, a deluxe hotel in downtown Montreal where you’ll be able to recover from jet lag and discover the city. Some activities will be proposed to start off your stay in Quebec. Have a nice vacation! 

Day 2: Montreal - Mekoos (Snowmobiling: 80 km)
You will be greeted by the Dumoulin family and its team with a welcome cocktail, a delicious local mead. Once you’ve settled into your room or chalet, we will give you the “Big Chill” clothing you will be wearing throughout your stay. A good deal of skill and effort is usually necessary to operate a snowmobile in powder snow. You will therefore receive basic training and safety instructions for your first snowmobile ride: approximately 80 km on our try out trails to familiarize yourself with your vehicle: a Ski-Doo SUMMIT 2009 or an equivalent model. This vehicle is designed for mountainous terrain and deep powder with a powerful engine for driving up steep slopes. When you return from your ride, you’ll sit down to a delicious meal prepared by our chef with our own local flavours And let’s not forget the outdoor spa, perfect to soothe those sore muscles and relax under a starlit sky.

Day 3: Mekoos - Pourvoirie des 100 Lacs (Snowmobiling: 150 km)
Your guide will take you to the Pourvoirie des 100 Lacs. You will stop by the Pourvoirie Scott where Denis will welcome you for lunch. To get there, we will be following the power lines, which form a wide and open passage offering ideal conditions for off-trail riding: perfect deep powder snow and large enough for everyone to enjoy the ride. We’ll be having a “criss-cross” race all the way to our destination where we’ll be rewarded with delicious regional cuisine and a good night at the Pourvoirie des 100 Lacs.

Day 4: Pourvoirie des 100 Lacs - Parent (Snowmobiling: 100 km)
From the Fer à cheval Outfitter, we will ride towards Parent, a small isolated village in a vast forest territory where nearly 400 inhabitants earn their living from logging and recreational tourism. Our route takes us once again under the power lines. We will be having lunch in the woods but will be dinning and sleeping in Parent in the comfortable chalets of l’Ombre du vent.

Days 5 and 6 : Parent - Clova (Snowmobiling: 300 km)
Leaving for Clova, an off-trail paradise where you will be spending the next two days. To get there, you will be crossing the Gouin Reservoir. Picture this! A 1570 sq. km white desert of ice and deep snow lined with powder snowdrifts to take by storm.  No experience can be as thrilling! You will be taking various logging roads to reach l’Auberge Clova where Dominic will be your host for the next two days. This charming inn used to be an old school which was completely transformed and renovated. The following day will be a day of adventure in the heart of the boreal forest. The logging activities in this region have left us with a legacy of old logging roads, perfect for off-trail riding. Enjoy yourself!

Day 7 : Clova - Mekoos (Snowmobiling: 230 km)
Returning to the Mekoos after a hearty breakfast, and you’ll need it as we’ll be covering almost 230 km of trail along the power lines and on logging roads. Afterwards, unwind in the sauna or the spa after this exciting excursion.

Day 8: Mekoos – Montreal
After a delicious breakfast, the entire Dumoulin family will be saying farewell… that is, until your next stay with us. A bus will take you back to Montreal, making a stop downtown for those of you who would like to purchase some souvenirs of your wonderful adventure in Quebec. Afterwards, it’s back to Trudeau Airport. You’ll be flying home, your mind filled with splendid images of the past week.
